I just think that there should be valid regression testing howto; the way chosen dosen't matter much -users like me are not capable to choose the way on their own, and will simply follow the given instructions. If they never dig deepely into programming, they will probably never speculate about other ways. Of course, the "official" way should respect the assumed sources and capabilities of majority users. The online CVS tree has one attribute that quite disturbs me: it dosen't use proxy, does it? Does it mean, that every compilation means downloading all the needed source code over and over again?
