I am sure I am using the joydev driver, NOT the event driver, as I deleted all /dev/input/eventX devices. It has different problems, starting with .NET 2.0 framework installation. I suspect some stuff in original VS.NET 2005 Enterprise/Prof .msi files is non-standard (by accident?) thus exposing this specific error in wine. Google shows there are users which experienced the same problem on windows (pretty much same error msg in log file). Cause seems to be kaspersky anti virus software. Suggested workaround: complete uninstall (deactivating protection does not work?) Somewhat mysterious...
