In Windows, it's possible to close the popup by clicking outside the popup. With Wine, however, it is necessary to either select a date or press Escape. The popup will also be closed if the user tries to move the popup window (which has X11 WM decorations). When clicking outside the popup with Wine, Wine generates a beep through X11 (I believe this happens since a WM_SETCURSOR with HTERROR is generated). A demo program is available as http://www.cendio.se/~astrand/wine/6-close-popup/. The app installs, but trying to start it fails with wine: Call from 0x7ee1cf20 to unimplemented function gdiplus.dll.GdipCreateRegion, aborting Installing native gdiplus gets the app to start and mostly run; I was able to watch a lunar lander movie clip. It installs fine, but crashes on startup after showing a splash screen. On the initial run, it asks whether to set coreftp as the default ftp client, and whether to use notepad to view ascii files. I answered no to both. If I want to select the multiplayer character, it also crashs. I think wine has problems to emulate the direct3d eninge of Vietcong. Unfortunately I can't give a better bug report, because I don't know much about wine/d3d/.... On 0.9.36 I have a working installation of visio 2003. After upgrading to 0.9.42 visio ceases to work, failing with the message "iopl not enabled". Ditto for 0.9.43. After reverting back to 0.9.36, visio 2003 again works. It installs fine on Wine, but after starting it insists on inserting the original CD in the CD drive although it is in the drive. A scan of the main executable with a copy protection scanner reveals Scanning -> c:\Programme\Klett\Mathetrainer 5\Mathetrainer.exe File Type : Exe, Size : 1231923 (012CC33h) Bytes -> File has 46094 (0B40Eh) bytes of appended data starting at offset 0121825h [!] Protect DiSC v6.2 - v6.8 (Build 12-07-2005) detected ! [!] exact version: Protect DiSC v6.2.5 ! [!] protection level: Basic According to http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_protections_protectcd.shtml this protection also refered as ProtectCD is a commonly used protection scheme. Other titles like "Need For Speed" and "Quake 3" make use of this protection scheme too. With the sane test backend, Irfanview still crashes when attempting to scan. The test backend works just fine with Picasa though. To scan, select File -> Acquire/batch scanning.
