These issues were not exhibited in 0.9.54. This fixes the rendering of transparent animations when using a background thread. Invoking strace on the applications shows the app hung in a read() call, and relay traces seem to indicate a hang in SendMessageW. While the easyC application always hangs, the .NET Framework exhibits intermittent failures, from failing with a critical section wait failure, to normal startup. If anyone sees that I am doing something wrong please let me know. I tried to rebuild everything and repair WoW (Repair.exe checks checksums to verify wow data) in case the bad memory had screwed up bits on my hard drive, but my problems persist. Running the installer fails immediately with the dialog box Cannot load library: 'SHELL.DLL' Doing touch ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/shell.dll works around this, and lets you get to the next problem (can't register app with program manager via DDE, but that's another bug). So I guess we need to create a fake 16 bit shell.dll to make this app happy... it ought to be in system, not system32, but touching it there didn't help.
