It's very jarring to experience. This did not occur with wine 0.9.51. Downgrading to 0.9.51 fixes the problem. I did not test 0.9.52. The image is squashed into the bottom, the area above does not repaint. I can exit the game with Alt-F4. I am running Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit and Wine 0.9.57 installed from the winehq repos.
