YOu can disable it by going to the Advanced tab in System Properties, going to Performance and clicking on Settings, then go to visual effects and uncheck "Smooth Edges of screen fonts". The pink should be gone after you apply that change. It appears it is not so much a bug as a compatibility problem with XP for a game built for Windows 98. It could be an issue that they fixed. From what I have read 15.1.0 didn't work on Vista and 15.1.1 fixed that, so perhaps whatever they did generally improved compatibility. However since 15.1.0 works on XP it seems logical to expect that Wine in XP mode could also run it.
