If the the commit is reverted, NFS MW crashes shortly after intro movie (in game menu). In current git (wine-1.2-rc1-142-ga72f3f3) i can play the carrier mode - i took few races (sounds was turned on) and perfect :) Although the problem evolved through the 3.5years this last commit makes the game playable and i guess it's not worth to track every commit through these years.
