That is, a short period at the beginning of the sound, probably first sound buffer or the whole of the sound, is repeated over and over again. The System Monitor does not start (to kill the app) and the sound continues even after Ctrl-Alt-BkSp (forced logout). Reboot needed. The game is installed and I can run steam (it is currently running) however once I click the link to play Magicka the screen pops up saying: Preparing to launch Magicka... that stay for a few seconds as usual - then nothing. Once that screen vanishes the game doesn't load - and none of my computers resources are being used for it so I know it hasn't loaded.
