Reverting the commit against current wine (1.5.3) fixes the issue. Anarchy Online appears to start up correctly in the stable 1.2.2 version and developmental versions 1.3.4 through 1.3.6. It works properly on Windows, but on Wine the interface redrawing is very slow. I can see every icon popping up on the screen, and every menu entry drawn one by one (btw menu is draw twice).
