It's related to the StarForce protection driver, but not an actual copy-protection check failing. I tried running the StarForce protection driver update from http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvup.zip Note: sfdrvup.exe requires that some version of the protection driver already be installed. I had previously installed a game which uses StarForce under Wine.
