To reproduce: 1) Start Adobe Photoshop 5.0 2) Create new document (CTRL+N & ENTER) 3) Click on the 'Type Tool' in the left toolbar (or press on the T key) 4) Click anywhere on the canvas to cause the crash to happen. Nothing visible happens when the Buried in Time demo is started. Two BuriedInTime.exe processes and one Unpack.exe process is created, and between them they use 100% of 1 CPU. Oddly, running Unpack.exe manually from the program directory seems to work properly, and once it is run the game starts. Native d3dx9 works around the crash and allows the program to start. The crash is in heap code (the application has its own crash handler that prevents a backtrace except when run in winedbg).
