Most of the time the application will crash due to heap corruption. Using native comctl32 from winetricks lets the application work just fine. If I'm interpreting the attached log correctly, the application copies its own contents into the structure passed in lParam: http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/blob/2c8ea6ebff21428dc407d85af3f51608… The data copied by application is 0x14c bytes in size, the buffer allocated by comctl is 0x124 bytes. I have a slider control ranging from -500 to +500, the range is being set using TBM_SETRANGEMIN / TBM_SETRANGEMAX. This means that the value 0 should be precisely in the middle. However, after calling TBM_SETPOS with a parameter of 0, the slider stays at the left side of the control, even though it should now be located in the middle. This works as expected on Windows, but not in Wine 1.9 on latest Xubuntu. Audio (music) works fine here. If you press <Esc> the game loads the menu and you should hear the loud, constantly playing noise which is originating from the cars passing by the camera. Their sounds should intensify and faint away as they come closer to the player then passing by. Instead, this loud sound is always played without changing it's volume or frequency even after starting a race. This becomes quite annoying after some time. Tested with Windows XP and Win 7 profiles. Reproduced with Alsa and Pulseaudio. After clicking the right half of the horizontal scrollbar, so that the view scrolls to the right, click to the left. The view should scroll back to the left, but this does not happen. The same happens in both displays of winefile (the file list and directory tree). In the tree, the visual effect when scrolling back is "interesting". OTOH, regedit scrolls perfectly fine. Same when clicking the horizontal arrows instead of the bar. I'm using Ubuntu Dapper and Gutsy, compiling wine snapshots myself, running wine in a 800x600 virtual desktop. Example how to reproduce: Start "wine regedit" (it can be reproduced with any other program with main menu) Press Alt+E in order to open the Edit submenu (or any other Alf+Key shortcut) While holding the Alt key pressed down, after the Edit submenu is opened, press Left or Right arrow keys. The active submenu start to cycle infinitely through all submenus and the application does not accept any keyboard input. The mouse is captured to the WINE application and not working for the whole desktop environment (tested with XFCE). In the same time, the main message loop works, because the refresh of the window is normal and for example the hint text in the status bar cycles according to the currently active submenu. The CPU usage is high at least for one of the cores. The cycle stops when the active application is changed to any other. The problem: the game crashes when I try to change screen resolution in the game options menu. I can reproduce the crash both with the demo version and the full (Steam) version of the game. The same crash happens in full screen as well as in virtual desktop mode.
