After some wine upgrades I've tried running D2 LoD and received "Access_violation (c0000005)" error. I've checked few different wine versions and got following results: wine-vanilla-3.0.3 - ok wine-vanilla-3.18 - Unhandled exception: Access_violation (c0000005) wine-vanilla-3.21 - Unhandled exception: Access_violation (c0000005) I've tried using clear wine prefix and error was gone. But after that I ran D2VidTst.exe, chose "Direct3D" instead of "DirectDraw (2D)" there, and issue reappeared. Changing to windowed mode from within the game works fine. Doesn't work on 3.5-devel (ubuntu) and 3.5 staging (gentoo). But, when I try to play them with a USB controller (I've tried an parallel Xbox Controller and a Multilaser's steering wheel), I notice that games' performance are reduced drastically (since them works as well at 30-40 fps, with USB controllers, they are running between 10-15 fps). Not tried other games. Note: using Valve's Steam Proton, all games (on my Steam account, I'm playing Overcooked, Max Payne 3, Xpand Rally Xtreme, Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas) that runs inside Proton works correctly when using USB controllers. If I'm clicking for example on File (a submenu opens) and clicking somewhere at the Blizzard logo (to close the submenu) there will be still a white background on the menu entry (File). The first letter of these entries (L and P) are only drawn to the half and the other half is flickering if the menu refreshes its information (~every second).
