Tested on Firefox 52 ESR, Waterfox and latest Pale Moon (you have to enable media.wmf.vp9.enabled to true for the latter so you can play videos on Youtube without native mfplat / vdec DLLs). I skimmed through Firefox's source code, it appears to be using IAudioStreamVolume::SetAllVolumes or similar calls. When I poked through Wine's code, it seems only coreaudio driver actually does anything here. The pulseaudio driver's SetAllVolumes is basically a no-op because it doesn't do anything with the volume it sets (except retrieve it with GetAllVolumes), and it's never sent to libpulse so of course it doesn't have any effect. The coreaudio driver does call ca_setvol or ca_session_setvol where the pulse driver is missing such a thing completely. With a quick search I found that pa_context_set_sink_input_volume might be useful for this purpose, but I don't really know much about libpulse, perhaps there's a better way. I have some interessting results. Maybe this is fixable? I'm sure the problem sits in the GDIPlus DLL Short summary: builtin: some menus lags really hard (very low framerate, 2~3 + input lag), all textures are visible native: normal framerate in all menus, but some missing textures (plain white spot where the textures should be) builtin (Wine) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Probably the reason for the heavy lag? Only using builtin gdiplus. fixme:wincodecs:JpegDecoder_Frame_CopyPalette (0x...,0x...): stub fixme:gdiplus:GdipCreateBitmapFromGdiDib (0x2002a60, 0x6b10000, 0x6578c8) - partially implemented Basically a stub and a partially implemented function. Maybe the game requires a better GdipCreateBitmapFromGdiDib implementation or the JpegDecoder_Frame_CopyPalette function. I don't know. NOTE: The JpegDecoder_Frame_CopyPalette fixme doesn't appear with the native gdiplus. native (Windows) - winetricks gdiplus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No lag there, but now some textures are missing. Instead of the texture which should be there, there is only a plain white spot. The 'generated' texture files are empty files (0 byte). You can verify this by youself easily: the cache folder is in the game folder. ($GAME/cache) This is the fixme which is spammed in the terminal when using the native gdiplus, installed using winetricks. fixme:bitmap:SetBitmapBits Unhandled partial pixel The other 2 fixmes from the builtin version are completely gone. What would happen if you fooled a game that needed 256 colour depth into thinking that's what it is running in while it is actually running at 24bit? I ask this as I am unable to change my colour depth and reduce my resolution below 640x480. And even when I could change my colour depth it meant restarting the X-server.
