What's special about it is that it uses a mix of locales: SystemDefaultLCID 0411 UserDefaultLCID 040c ThreadLocale 0411 SystemPreferredUILanguages 0412,0409 UserDefaultUILanguage 0412 ThreadUILanguage 0412 Country 231 ACP 932 The failures started happening with the commit below: commit 605ecafa67a4e034328b69396581e2f9b60d7af3 Author: Francois Gouget <fgouget(a)codeweavers.com> Date: Wed Dec 21 18:48:29 2022 +0100 user32: Fix a SetClipboardData() buffer overflow. Wine would append a correctly aligned NUL Unicode character to terminate the string but overflow the buffer by one byte for odd-sized strings. Windows instead overwrites the last two buffer bytes with a NUL Unicode character which ends up being misaligned for odd-sized strings. The clipboard data has a size field anyway so match the Windows behavior. I was using the GOG version of Incoming, but the demo (the same one mentioned in bug 44864, MD5: 5b1fff6863768eeff95167e510d09a2e, SHA256: dcc55a269c33ea5363cd937284752d7ffe57f4774c55a38dfdd4a9172376563c, 3.8MB file called incoming.exe, available via cnet.com at least) also exhibits the same issue. I have attached the terminal output from the GOG version as log.txt, and I will also attach the terminal output of the GOG version as well as the demo versions of those two. The wine version I am using is from the Arch Linux repositories, and I am using a clean 64 bit wineprefix with no settings changed at all (this setup worked fine before), although I also tried a 32 bit wineprefix, same results. Unix symlinks could be mapped into junction points. This would allow applications (e.g. Picasa) avoid following symlinks if they wanted to. Also, the .net 2 installer would be happier in winxp mode if wine supported junction points (see bug 10601): "The .NET 2.0 Framework installer checks if the target volume is NTFS filesystem type and then uses the FSCTL_SET_REPARSE_POINT ioctl (used for mount points and junctions) to create junction points for each registered assembly in Windows SxS directory to GAC assembly directory (link target). Basically the junction point is used to redirect access from one directory to another." After the most recent patch, I was unable to use wine-staging 2.21, which had been working excellently for me. Wine 3.5 has trouble: loading the "Hero Attack 3X" (popular) arcade game, the game crashes. I've attached a "WINEDEBUG=warn+all" log, and can help debug.
