Reverting said commit restores the ability to run the application. This bug occurs from version 612 and onward (now at 613), which basically doesn't open the window at all (but the process isn't killed, so it just hangs in the terminal and I'm unable to terminate it). After the most recent patch, I was unable to use wine-staging 2.21, which had been working excellently for me. Wine 3.5 has trouble: loading the "Hero Attack 3X" (popular) arcade game, the game crashes. I've attached a "WINEDEBUG=warn+all" log, and can help debug. Nothing on either side of this trace seemed out of the ordinary. I receive a notice that there's an error and Battle.net has to shut down. I close it, and the error shows up again. This continues in a cycle until I use "wineserver -k" to exit. The backtrace saved from this has been attached. I am able to use the Settings button on the login screen for the Battle.net app, as well as typing in a username/password, but I cannot go any farther than that because there is no submit button and it doesn't seem to want to load. Be aware that I had previously been loading Starcraft II directly using the SC2Switcher.exe executable, but because a new version needs to be downloaded, I'm needing to get into the Battle.net app. Not sure if not using the app is a side effect. Both during normal usage, but more critically, when it's VRAM budget is low or over-committed. The VS2022 (and I think also VS2019) C++ standard library in C++20 mode uses this DLL to implement the timezone database as specified by the C++ standard. The standard library loads this DLL dynamically with LoadLibraryExW (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) and throws a std::system_error (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…> and <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/blob/ef62d3fa0b8e4e2406b9bb74e916e1ca8a1df…>) when it cannot load it. In order to provide compatibility with modern Windows versions, IMHO Wine should thus ship a compatible icu.dll. A similar issue also exists for older Windows versions even on the Microsoft side (see <https://github.com/microsoft/STL/issues/1911>). This issue arose since I recently modernized timezone handling in OpenMPT by using C++20 chrono. For now, I have worked around the problem in OpenMPT.
