The issue is described also here: https://github.com/neurodroid/stimfit/issues/110 Some text in some panels is not visible when using wine, but its working fine on Windows. In order to reproduce the issue, you need: stimfit-lite-0.16.8-win64.exe available from here https://github.com/neurodroid/stimfit/releases/download/v0.16.8/ and some example data, e.g. download and unzip https://github.com/user-attachments/files/19322137/20250314_S5_C1_CellChar.… When starting stimfit under wine, and loading the data data, e.g. with this command, wine stimfit-lite-0.16.8-win64.exe 20250314_S5_C1_CellChar.cfs The panel headers "Trace selection", "Channel selection", "Results" are not readible. Creative Cloud downloads it's installer, installs. Without installing windowscodecs via vinetricks, before opening an image, mouseover previews of an otherwise unseen sample image are displayed. After opening an image, it knows the size etc of what it's been asked to open, but the display of it is black. Similarly, the mouseover previews of the various effects are black. On saving, the file appears to be all black. After installing windowscodecs via vinetricks, it displays the iamges and mouseovers of it correctly. After loading one of the place templates, you notice that most of the child windows are pitch black as well. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create an account on roblox.com. 2. Download the installer for Roblox Studio. 3. Create a desktop entry named "Roblox_Studio.desktop" with the following contents. Replace <user> with the name of your user. [Desktop] Name=Roblox Studio (modified) Exec=env "WINEPREFIX=/home/<user>/.wine" wine "C:\\\\users\\\\<user>\\\\AppData\\\\Roaming\\\\Microsoft\\\\Windows\\\\Start Menu\\\\Programs\\\\Roblox\\\\Roblox Studio.lnk" %u Type=Application StartupNotify=true Icon=2C11_RobloxStudioBeta.0 StartupWMClass=robloxstudiobeta.exe MimeType=x-scheme-handler/roblox-studio-auth 4. Once you reached the place templates selection, click on the "File" menu on the top left, then on "Studio Settings" and then on "Rendering" in the newly spawned window, where you should change the "Graphics Mode" from "Automatic" to "OpenGL". After that, relaunch Studio. I have several wineprefixes installed on a secondary hard drive which is mounted with the "users" mount option in fstab. Starting from Wine 10.18, I'm noticing that some applications installed in these prefixes fail to launch. I've observed the issue with the following applications: - Battle Moon Wars (32-bit application) - Battle Moon Wars with unofficial English patch (32-bit application in 64-bit prefix) - Melty Blood with unofficial English patch (32-bit application) - Melty Blood Re-Act with unofficial English patch (32-bit application) I've checked a few applications installed in prefixes on the same drive that did not exhibit the same issue: - HxD (64-bit application) - Touhou Puppet Dance Performance Shard of Dreams with unofficial English patch (32-bit application) - RALibRetro (32-bit application) The main common factor with the games I've seen affected is that they are quite old Japanese doujin games. Touhou Puppet Dance Performance Shard of Dreams is also a Japanese game, but it doesn't exhibit this issue. I'm not sure what other applications to check. I've attached the backtrace for Battle Moon Wars with the unofficial English patch. A minimal test case with the necessary C code (<30 lines), the resulting .exe (compiled with MinGW) and a test .wav file is attached. The resulting test case: * works on all Windows 7 64bit machines tested * breaks with winealsa.drv on top of pulseaudio * breaks with winepulse.drv on top of pulseaudio * works with winealsa.drv on top of alsa (without pulseaudio) * works if the file is converted to a 16bit .wav file Furthermore, the attached output of pacmd list-sinks appears to show that pulseaudio doesn't advertise 24bit capabilities - so wine probably mistakenly tries to use 24bit audio with pulseaudio without support for that being present. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
