Problem does not occur with a native gdiplus dll. Compare the two screenshot: the first one with native dll, the second one with the builtin dll. Note the behaviour in a real Windows 10 box is the behaviour of the native dll. These shims have worked correctly in Wine for many years, but are broken in staging-10.15. In staging-10.15, the shim appears to be working, but no textures are replaced. These shims work correctly in staging-10.14 and also in devel-10.15. It appears only staging-10.15 is affected. (Sorry, I am not equipped to do a bisect on wine-staging.) Steps to Reproduce (uMod, method1): 1. Start the uMod executable in Wine. 2. Launch Guild Wars from within uMod. 3. Use uMod's UI to load a texture replacement mod. 4. Observe that no textures are replaced. Steps to Reproduce (uMod, method2): 1. Place the uMod dll in the Guild Wars installation directory, renamed d3d9.dll. 2. Start the uMod executable in Wine. 3. Start Guild Wars in Wine. 4. Use uMod's UI to load a texture replacement mod. 5. Observe that no textures are replaced. Steps to Reproduce (gMod): 1. Place the gMod dll in the Guild Wars installation directory, renamed d3d9.dll. 2. Create a modlist.txt file in the Guild Wars installation directory, containing the full path to a texture replacement mod. 3. Start Guild Wars in Wine. 4. Observe that no textures are replaced. Tested on two distros (i'm from PCLinuxOS) with same bad results. The hang occurs only on x86_64 build of iexplore (wine64). The 32 bit one works fine. Result: splash screen is shown and then welcome screen is displayed. But after clicking "Not now, maybe later" it halts with: Application: devenv.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The application requested process termination through System.Environment.FailFast(string message). Message: Failed to schedule time on the UI thread. A continuation would never execute. An infinite timeout (equivalent to NMPWAIT_WAIT_FOREVER in kernel32's WaitNamedPipeW) is, on Windows proper, specified by the minimum signed 64-bit integer value, i.e. 0x8000_0000_0000_0000. This behavior is not documented, but can be observed by tracing the ntdll calls triggered by WaitNamedPipeW; and ReactOS also agrees with this value. However, Wine instead represents an infinite timeout using the value 0x7FFF_FFFF_FFFF_FFFF (the *maximum* signed 64-bit integer, aka TIMEOUT_INFINITE). This logic is internally consistent: the WaitNamedPipeW implementation converts NMPWAIT_WAIT_FOREVER to that value, and the server detects it in async_set_timeout (called from named_pipe_device_ioctl in server/named_pipe.c). However, it causes direct usage of this ntdll API to incorrectly return STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT when the correct "infinite timeout" value is passed. I suspect the logic in named_pipe_device_ioctl should be modified to detect the special value 0x8000_0000_0000_0000 and avoid setting a timeout in that case, and that WaitNamedPipeW should be modified to translate NMPWAIT_WAIT_FOREVER to that value rather than 0x7FFF_FFFF_FFFF_FFFF. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
