Then renewed try with "advanced installation", but no success either : "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with the package. As the DX11 implementation has been improved in Wine, the graphics stopped working at some point after Wine 2.3. I have attached a log file which may indicate well enough about the root reason of the issue (Should I still run a regression test?) Wine complains *a lot* about the following: err:d3d:wined3d_debug_callback 0x1b309e40: "GL_INVALID_ENUM error generated. Invalid primitive mode.". P.S. There are already an open ticket for corrupted graphics in this game (bug 42729), but this issue is about "No graphics at all". GUI graphics (menus etc.) are still okay. When the viewer connects to a listening remote server the same crash occurs: c:\> rem the server must be properly configured: c:\> tvnserver.exe -run $ wine tvnviewer.exe <remote-server-address> wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0000000000000000 at address 000000014007D22D (thread 010c), starting debugger... 0108:err:sync:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0000000001D77BF8 (null) wait timed out in thread 0108, blocked by 010c, retrying (60 sec) This worked until very recently, 7.0.1~repack-1 was fine (this is Debian Testing). The software is licensed under the GPL and binaries can be downloaded on the author's homepage (currently at version 2.8.63): https://www.tightvnc.com/download.php The 32 bit version also crashes.
