In function dwarf2_parse_compilation_unit it looks like comp_dir.u.string is allowed to contain NULL because of the assignment in line 3090: 3090 comp_dir.u.string = NULL; Unfortunately a few lines later this comp_dir.u.string is given to function source_build_path: 3100 tmp = source_build_path(comp_dir.u.string, name.u.string); But therefore function source_build_path does an unconditional strlen(NULL), which causes a SIGSEGV: 62 unsigned bsz = strlen(base); -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. The effect appears like a black area, displayed very briefly just before the actual content is drawn. I think this has started somewhere with 9.x and I don't see this black flash effect in Wine 8.0. It seems every time there is some activity on the window area the affected region is "blanked" out momentarily before the GUI is drawn. Using Wine 10.1 on Xorg with amdgpu and Trinity desktop. Xfce 4.12 shows same problem. Is there some redraw frequency I can tweak to fix this? The "buggy" behavior is present in wine v9, but wine v8 shows the console output just fine. I believe the related change is in this commit: https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/commit/4b63e888945b8ada2ddc043e435b93… In the commit, it is stated that this behavior can be achieved by starting the app with "./wine app | cat", however that does not seem to be working with wine or wineconsole (Please see attachments) When using WINEDEBUG=+console, I can see the application interacting and writing to the windows console, however nothing is shown on the screen. The tty size is only read upon start and remains fixed. Attaching a hack that fixes it for me. Tested with the Steam and GOG.com versions. Demo is available on Steam but it is not affected (the demo uses different video format for videos). This is after commit 2f180106471a41fa3d95f21919b87b94d8e13e63 amstream: Implement the custom ddraw stream allocator. The allocator has a lot of custom behaviour that is very visible in how it interacts with Update(). Naturally this has the benefit of writing directly into the mapped surfaces. I was using the GOG version of Incoming, but the demo (the same one mentioned in bug 44864, MD5: 5b1fff6863768eeff95167e510d09a2e, SHA256: dcc55a269c33ea5363cd937284752d7ffe57f4774c55a38dfdd4a9172376563c, 3.8MB file called incoming.exe, available via cnet.com at least) also exhibits the same issue. I have attached the terminal output from the GOG version as log.txt, and I will also attach the terminal output of the GOG version as well as the demo versions of those two. The wine version I am using is from the Arch Linux repositories, and I am using a clean 64 bit wineprefix with no settings changed at all (this setup worked fine before), although I also tried a 32 bit wineprefix, same results.
