This is likely a problem coming from the game itself, at version 1.20, and the 1.21 patch is meant to correct it. If someone who plays with 1.21 could confirm it works, it would be helpful.
I tried it on windows without it crashing on party roster screen, on 1.20, or atleast what I thought was 1.20, however, I just searched around a bit and found this: http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/review/R132518.html which seems to imply that it is also a problem on windows. Whoops.
