The status should be changed from unconfirmed, because the bug itself has been confirmed by multiple testers. Possible solutions: 1)forward port the patch and add tests. 2) write a new patch and tests. A wine mailing list posting I found on Gmane by the author of the patch claims he has added tests. If so, the tests could be forward ported as well. I've emailed the author at what I hoped would be a current mailing addres, and he has not responded after a week or more.
