It works in current Staging-git though (wine-5.7-170-gd1f858e03da). The "ddraw.dll" in question is indeed part of a fan-made mod which makes use of D3D11 in this old game: https://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/threads/1502591-D3D11-Renderer-f%C3%BC... It needs to be set to "native,builtin" otherwise the mod is not enabled and the game starts with the original DX8 renderer.
