`WINEDEBUG="+xrandr,+x11drv" ./wine winecfg` before running `xrandr --auto`
with patch applied

the patch seems to fix it, thanks! additional log attached in case it is
useful. this log is from the second run of ./wine, started without any
wineserver running, before any xrandr calls.
