... What happens if you simply use min(dw/nw, dh/nh) for both the (1,1) and (2,2) matrix elements? Assuming you can do that, I know nothing about Xrandr (and sorry if that's a dumb suggestion).
That doesn't work ;) I'll look into the "Border" property when I have some time, a quick test with xrandr ended up having panning enabled for the resulting centered desktop: xrandr --verbose --output LVDS-0 --scale-from 1280x1024 --set "Border" "285, 0, 285, 0" ^^ for my native resolution of 1920x1080 However, if you have a system affected by this bug I'd love additional testers :) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
