With your example from comment 4 I get a crash on Wine 9.19 on Arch Linux. I noticed that, after installing the program, there are a bunch of files missing from the installation compared to windows. This is bug 55914 all over again (and I hate it). In short, work around bug 55914 and it should work fine on latest Wine.
