There is improvement after c639e757d5ebdff307f623da2db2d5c94f187a64

"Assertion failed" seems gone, but still get this sometimes:

err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7e1f06e0 "cookie.c: cookie_cs"
wait timed out in thread 0031, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)
