Installed the ie8, and the process came up with no crash, but the panel that should display the message results in a completely blank panel?? So, ended up reverting back to winehq-devel and uninstalling the IERenderer extension. Can then use the option to open message in web browser (firefox) and it displays the information. Thanks for the info, was interesting.
