The crash is always reproducible. Now comes the interesting part: there seems to be another regression which causes the game to crash as soon as the main menu appears, however it isn't fully reproducible on my system: *sometimes* the game starts without the crash. When the crash occurs it always happens in Wine's ddraw module (in surface.c according to the backtrace).
