But since the AJ switched from CVS to GIT repository maintaining, wine-cvs mailing list reports GIT repository times [2], not CVS repository times, while the same patch in both of them differs by its timestamp. And I know of no way to retrieve the incremental log for CVS repository. wine/Changelog file provides only day-precise log information. Maybe the most nice way here will be to rewrite HowTo, and to switch to GIT on a client side too.. And if this is the only way, then regression testing will be hard for a newbies (and other conservative users who use "cvs" command to maintain Wine tree in their boxes) for a while.
