https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40906 Bug ID: 40906 Summary: Age of Empires 2 HD is no longer playable after the latest game patch Product: Wine Version: 1.9.13 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: flaviozavan(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Age of Empires 2 HD used to work fine on wine. The appdb page shows a long list of success cases. However, after the last game update, it is unplayable, two different errors occur: If you try playing a scenario, the game just crashes. If you try a normal single player game, it says "Waiting for players" indefinitely. I did not try multiplayer with this. I obviously tested this on a clean prefix. I also tried using wine 1.8.2, which was reported successful on the appdb page, and was able to reproduce the bug, so I do not believe this is a regression. The developers provide access to older versions of the game via the steam beta system. If I set mine to patch43 (or older), the game is playable again, which functions as a quick workaround, though it renders multiplayer unlikely. When looking at the output on the terminal, nothing caught my attention, but I have no idea what debug flags to use. I'll happily provide more information once I know what can be useful. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
