This bug refers to the game version 1.08 only.
wine 1.3.25 good, 1.3.28- bad

how to reproduce.
1. download dinksmallwood108.exe
2. install and launch manager window.
3. keep "true color" and "windowed" unticked
4. run the game and get black screnn

If "true color", the game starts fine.
