Can you try the following in a CLEAN wineprefix?

WINEARCH=win32 wine msiexec /i ABBYY\ FineReader\ 12\ Professional.msi
DISABLEROLLBACK=1

Also, is this application available for download, or is there a demo that sees
the same failure?
