I bet that game is protected by securom 7, so maybe this is now a dup of bug 7065
The Steam version of BiA:HH behaves in the same way as the retail version: sometimes the game just hangs after starting. Occasionally I'm getting an error message about General Protection Fault just as described in comment #0. The Steam version of the game doesn't have any other DRM than Steam.
