[Bug 33587] Should Wine create symbolic links to ~ directories?

The best solution to this feature request would be to check for an environment
variable, let's say,

SYMLINK2HOME=0

and not to create symbolic links in this case.

I can even try to write a patch for this use case, but I need to know if it's
going to get merged. I don't want to waste my time if Alexander just says, "No,
symlinks are a must. Period."
