Does 'winetricks dotnet48' help?
I tried this on this prefix but then the updater to the July beta wouldn't run so I downloaded bash-5.1$ sha256sum Install_AOL_Desktop.exe 3123f8968457ab0981e16c534c139c9619d9d8ac38bfd13e2311e8cc44fa4939 Install_AOL_Desktop.exe from the Beta website and did a reinstallation which wouldn't launch at all except for the splash screen logo. I logged some console output as well but will try again once 9.14 is released for my Slackware 15.0 box. Thanks for getting back to me Austin!
