[Bug 25617] Clones crashes after a period of time (occasionally with an out of memory error)

I can no longer reproduce the problem with the newly released, 1.30 version of
the game.
The previous one (v1.29) still crashes in the same way, after a couple of
minutes of gameplay, so the fix came from the game itself, not from Wine.
Tested in wine-1.3.19-365-g041a651.
