Thanks for asking!

The actual issue is that the bitmap fonts are not readable (they are too
"tiny") on displays with higher resolution. So when a application selects or
uses the original "Courier" font, the app is not usable (i.e. Framemaker).

I cannot test this on windows because unfortunately I have no longer a working
windows installation.
