The failing path is a mix of a windows-style ('\\' separated) root directory path concatenated to what looks like a linux-style ('/' separated) XDG CACHE directory. Both paths are absolute. I could create a valid 2-level directory hierarchy manually with 'mkdir -p this\/that'. I wonder if '\\/' is an allowed path separator for the function used?
