AFAIK spore is a new 3d game, not likely to be related to C&C which is old 2D
ddraw game.

Between 1.0 and 1.1.4, several bugs have been fixed that potentially could
affect C&C in various modes (opengl and non-opengl).

So this really needs a retest with new (1.1.4 or git) Wine and clarification of
important details.
