I just retested with wine 1.7.40 and the problem is gone! I can successfully browse the iTunes store in iTunes 10, 11, and 12. I tested buying a song in iTunes 10 and it works (I assume it will work in 11 and 12 but I didn't test it). I also reran the network connectivity tests in iTunes 10 and that works as well - the only test that fails is connecting to the 'iPhone Activation Server' which is a useless feature in Wine anyway given that there is no USB support.
