As was the case in bug #54251 and bug #24252 even with working DNS servers
generally (E.G. curl and ping work just fine), on a system with multiple
interfaces that are usable but not presently connected to a network with a DNS
server it will still loop forever.  Be that a videogame or ipconfig /all

As in the patch Hans linked in https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54251#c3
the correct action is to fail when there is no specific reason to retry.
