http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18830 Summary: Use fallback fonts for MS core fonts Product: Wine Version: 1.1.23 Platform: PC URL: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2009-June/0 55078.html OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: leonardof(a)gnome.org Many applications take for granted the availability of fonts like Arial, Times New Roman etc. Recently, on a fresh installation, I found myself unable to use all my regular Windows applications on Wine becaause of unreadable text, and the issue was solved by installing the ttf-mscorefonts package. Please make sure applications will use equivalent fonts (eg Vera, DejàVu, Liberation) when they look for absent "core" fonts. Thanks!
