[Bug 37332] Cannot run Rome Total War (installed / run from Steam)

Forgot to include in the original:  based on errors in the log initially about
ntlm_auth, I used HomeBrew to install Samba (3.6.23), that caused the ntlm_auth
error to stop being reported.  Doing this caused me to get to the first screen.

based on reading about various other issues, I used winecfg to disable the
library gameoverlayrenderer.
