NTFS-3G is not aware, nor was reported any functionality needed by Wine which is not provided by NTFS-3G already. Such support includes:
- shared writable mmap: http://ntfs-3g.org/support.html#wine - full ownership and permission support: http://pagesperso-orange.fr/b.andre/security.html
The first one is needed by Excel. And unfortunately it's not available for NTFS on current distros.
