I have it installed years ago and there is no virus whatsoever.
Given your post I will try your latest version. But the version 10 looked bad on my screen.
The most un-zoomed view on MapSource is 30 km at 50 km and more they switch to a standard background world map ...
Which isn't present when installed in wine. So you get a yellow background ...
