[Bug 38702] Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter crashes in the "Load Game" menu

After some more research I discovered a bug report for a superset of the
symptoms I describe (crashing in all kinds of menus). I was not able to
reproduce the crashes in the listed menus though except in the "Load Game"
screen.
