Better late than never...I've just discovered that the problem goes away if I
change 'Cycles' in DosBoxTR.conf from the default 'auto' to anything else, e.g.
"cycles=8000".
It seems the problems occurs when autodetection is enabled. This is the default
DosBox setting with almost every game I encountered so far.
