Joe, do not reply to wine-bugs. Post in Bugzilla. Email read:
"I can not post the shell output due to the system locking up on me. No other games/apps lock on me due to the Nvidia GeFORCE FX 5200 graphics card that I am using. I believe it to be a wine problem since it used to work through wine way back and no longer does. I hope this helps you. Thanks.

Wine cannot lockup your system, unless you're running it as root. Most likely, the video drivers are buggy/mismatched to your kernel. You can try running your program with: $ wine your_program.exe &> ~/gta_log.txt And after regaining control of your system, ~/gta_log.txt should have the log up until the lockup.
