I loaded an older (1.2x) version of Wine and Sketchup 8 works again. Based on
the time I started having trouble, the problem originates in either 1.3.27 or
1.3.28. I am going to try installing newer and newer versions of Wine until I
can confirm which version initiates the problem for Sketchup.

Is this of any value, or do you already know which version starts the problem?
